Dude, you're right about gas

I'm totally with Frugal Dad on this one.

He writes about how gas prices really aren't that high if you consider it on a personal level. And when you think about the people who do the complaining, like the guys who drive big trucks just so they can go muddin', it's really just ridiculous.

Take a look at his article, and while you're at it, check out his whole blog. I know that I'm adding him to my blog list... Once I get a blog list up.

I drive a fuel efficient car and try to keep it well maintained. I live close to where I work and when I go shopping I try to combine as many errands in a particular area as possible. I fill up my gas tank about once a month. Yeah, I complained the other week when it cost me $45 to fill my tank. But several years ago, when gas prices first started rising, I had a 35-45 minute commute every day. I was averaging a $10 fill up at least once a week. My lifestyle chages mean that I'm pretty much paying the same amount for gas every month, even though prices have, what?, doubled in the last four years. The shorter commutes mean less stress and fewer impulse purchases- I have to go out of my way to go shopping or hit a fast food place for dinner. So I'm saving money and calories, too.

Sorry to write a novel here, but it is totally possible for people to make changes to improve their situation. It's always surprising how those small decisions grow and cause other positive changes.
